Professional Support Series for Families - [English/Spanish]
The Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) is hosting a series of virtual conversations for parents and other caregivers who are managing children’s learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. This series is a follow-up to a statewide town hall on December 8th where over 400 attendees asked questions and offered comments and suggestions that were used to inform the following sessions.

Food Services Update 10/16/20:

Good news! The USDA is extending the waiver allowing us to serve free meals throughout the 20-21 school year. There are no income requirements, and all children 18 and younger are eligible to receive free breakfast & lunch. All of our school cafeterias are offering free breakfast and lunch to all students at this time. Remote learners are encouraged to pick up meals at McGee Middle School, 899 Norton Road (please drive around to the back of the school on the left hand side) from 8:00-10:00 a.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. Please continue to apply for free or reduced meals. If eligible, those benefits would carry over for the first 30 days of the 21-22 SY.

Mornings can be really crazy…the alarm doesn’t go off…the kids don’t want to get up…there’s no time to eat breakfast before the bus comes…or they’re just not ready to eat. Maybe your teenager grabs an energy drink on the way to school. If this sounds like your house, we have good news for you.

School breakfast will energize your child’s day and provide them with a healthy start. A nutritious breakfast helps students be more alert so they can learn more in class, and has plenty of vitamins and nutrients for a strong and healthy body. Breakfast is served at school!

Breakfast at school is affordable, too. If you qualify for free and reduced price meals, you also qualify for the breakfast program, with no additional paperwork. You can’t find a healthier breakfast at such a low cost anywhere else.

Free Breakfast

So help your child start the day right with school breakfast!
