Kindergarten Orientation and Registration
Posted on 03/29/2018

Students who will be age 5 on or before January 1, 2019 are eligible to attend kindergarten during the 2018-2019 school year. If you would like to add your child to our database of future students, please contact the Board of Education at 860-828-6581.

Kindergarten Orientation
An orientation meeting for parents will take place at each respective elementary school on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 5:45 p.m. Please be certain that your child is completely registered prior to the orientation. An additional program for parents and kindergarten students will be offered prior to the opening of school in August.

Exercising your option to withhold your child
Parents have the option not to send their kindergarten eligible child who is 4 or 5 years of age to school until the child is 6 or 7 years of age. If you decide to elect to exercise your option to withhold your child from kindergarten in the Berlin Public Schools for the 2018-2019 school year, please complete and return to the Board of Education a SCHOOL ATTENDANCE OPTION FORM. You will have an opportunity to meet with school personnel. Please note that this form must also be returned if your child will be attending a private or magnet school for kindergarten.

Below please find the letter from our Superintendent of Schools, Brian Benigni, about this transition process. More information, including all necessary forms, can be found on our district website under Kindergarten and Additional Information.
